Some projects require more planning than others. Small handyman projects may be planned with only a short phone conversation. A kitchen or bath remodel, on the other hand, will require several weeks of preparation before we can ever start swinging a hammer. Here's what to expect from us when undertaking a large remodeling or renovation project.
Phone Consultation
When you contact us, we will arrange for a time to speak on the phone for 5-10 minutes regarding your project. We will have a general discussion about what you are looking to achieve, what type of contractor you’d like to work with, and the available budget. If it seems like we would be a good fit for your project and you’d like to learn more, we will arrange for an in-home consultation.
In-Home Consultation & Inspections
These meetings typically last from 1-3 hours depending on the size of the project. We will arrange to meet with you at a time that is convenient for you. Please make sure that all of the decision making parties will be able to attend. We will engage in a detailed discussion of your wants, needs, and available budget. Our representative will perform a thorough inspection of the current conditions in your home, take detailed notes and measurements, and offer suggestions. After we have answered all of your questions, we will be prepared to return to our office and organize a detailed scope of work and cost estimate for your project.
Estimate
After meeting with you at your home, we will research and develop a detailed scope of work and cost estimate for your project. The estimate will include fixtures that our past clients have enjoyed, along with an allowance amount if you’d prefer something different. After reviewing the estimate and deciding that we would be the perfect choice to handle your project, we will obtain a small retainer in order to proceed.
Design
Many projects require plans or drawings. We create many of these in-house, but we are also fortunate to partner with professional designers who are skilled in many aspects and styles of architecture.
Pre-Project Meetings
Once the design is created, we will meet with you to review the plans and drawings that we have developed. We will also do a “walk-through” where you will also get to meet the plumber, electrician, and other specialty contractors that will help to bring your project to life. We will also bring you to our showrooms to pick out the fixtures and tile that will go into your project.
Proposal
After all of the details are finalized, we will develop the exact amount that your project will cost, pending any change orders. The proposal will include detailed specifications for the fixtures and materials that will be used, a detailed list of the workmanship expectations that you can anticipate, other terms and conditions, other things to expect from us, and what we will expect from you. The proposal will also include the payment schedule for your project. A down payment is received upon acceptance of the proposal, and the permits, materials and fixtures for your job are ordered.
Creation of your Dream Space
At last, we can start working on your project! Allrounder will make sure that all of the necessary materials and fixtures are delivered and in good condition. We will coordinate the various trades that are involved in your project and make sure that progress is moving forward. We will schedule the necessary city inspections and meet with the inspectors to resolve any issues or answer any questions that they may have. Throughout the project, we will keep you informed of our progress, alert you to any unexpected issues that develop, and keep your home as clean and tidy as possible. Punch List
When your project is complete, we will walk through with you to ensure that every detail exceeds your expectations. Any adjustments, dings, or dents are taken care of. If any materials or fixtures end up damaged or backordered, we will return as soon as they are available to take care of them.
Follow Up—6 months & 1 year
After a few months, we will give you a call or email to find out how everything is working for you. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please give us a call or email. Your ultimate satisfaction is our goal.
Warranty Service, if Necessary
If there is a door that needs adjusting, a crack in the drywall, or anything else that needs attention, we will schedule a time to take care of it for you.
