During this kitchen project in Inver Grove Heights, we were able to skim coat &  blend three different ceiling textures together seamlessly:  a swirl pattern, bare drywall where a wall was removed, and a sand texture.

Sanding drywall compound creates a lot of dust.  White dust.  Very fine dust.  This dust has a nasty habit of getting EVERYWHERE.  It sneaks beyond plastic dust walls.  It gets on shoes and travels throughout the house.  It gets sucked through heat vents and spreads even more.  This dust can really bother folks with allergies or sensitivities.

Most drywall companies let the dust fly where it may, and run a broom when they are done to “clean up”, thus spreading the dust around even more.  At Allrounder, we feel that there is a better way.  With our vacuum sanding system, 95% of the dust is collected right at the wall where the sandpaper meets the compound.  It doesn’t get the chance to fly through the air and stick to every surface in your house.  Your house stays cleaner, and your family stays healthier.  We clean up using a HEPA filtered vaccuum, capturing nearly all of those nasty dust particles.

A water leak caused significant damage to this ceiling.  We protected the work area with plastic barrier walls, covered the floor, removed the damaged material, installed a drywall patch, and matched the texture perfectly.  The final photo was taken while the texture was still wet; the color and texture matched the existing ceiling perfectly once it was dry.  Expect to pay between $400-$600 for a repair similar to this one; the cost will be higher if the entire ceiling needs to be repainted.
